Can I offer my own themes in the Contao theme store?
Yes, that is possible. However you have to be a trade professional or freelancer who can issue invoices. We will verify your professional status before your merchant account is activated.

What do merchants have to pay to use the Contao theme store?
Basically, using the Contao theme store is free, which means that there are no registration or listing fees. Only if a product is sold, we will charge a commission of 30% of the net order value. In return, we provide the platform, process the payment, take over the non-payment risk and supply the downloads.

When and how are merchants paid?
You can review your sales in the reports module at any time. At the end of each month, simply invoice us for the monthly total minus the commission.

Are there any requirements regarding the themes?
No. Basically, we only provide the platform and do not specify how the themes sold on it have to look like. However, we reserve to reject individual products if they are defective or incomplete.

In which format do I have to upload my themes?
Themes are shipped as .zip files and have to be uploaded as such. Each .zip file must contain at least the following:
- The .cto file of the theme to be imported in Contao
- One or more .txt files with the license terms (one per language)
If a theme comes with a pre-configured example website, you also have to include the .sql file to be imported with the Contao install tool. Furthermore, you can include documents like an installation instruction or a Photoshop file.

Can I offer my themes on other platforms in parallel?
Yes, you do not have to use the Contao theme store exclusively. You can e.g. run your own shop in parallel. However, the following limitations apply:
1. The prices have to be the same in all shops.
You must not offer a $100 theme with a note that the same theme only costs $50 in your own shop. The prices for a theme have to be the same in all shops. This also includes special-offer prices.
2. You must not abuse the Contao theme store as promotion platform.
The Contao theme store is not meant to bring your own shop to the attention of potential theme buyers. Keep the texts and images neutral and do not link the products to offers in your own store.
3. If a theme is sold exclusively, it has to be removed from the theme store immediately.
The Contao theme store does not offer buy-outs. However, if there is such an option in your own store, you are solely responsible for removing the theme from the Contao theme store, too. We cannot be held liable for overlapping sales.
